Yeah, Spike's just mean.
And amazingly good at controlling Martinus' body! Makes me wonder how many people he (it?) has gotten a chance to practice with...
I'm trying really hard not to chew my fingernails off over Henson's situation. I don't mind him getting in some nasty peril, but I don't want anything... permanent to happen to him! And I remember what STARTED to happen to him in the old version of the comic! |

Yes I agree with that...I remember too, he was turning into a zombie or something horrible. Had to keep him tied up with a cape or something.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that still remembers that odd event.
What scares me more is how skilled Spike is as a fighter, using Marty's body. He seems rather adapt at using these makeshift weapons...all ironically due to the heroes' designs. It makes me dread what their "master" is. Also...now it seems Henson is being captured too...he's getting tied up again.
I love how catty Spike is controlling Marty, as evil as he is, it's almost a guilty pleasure to watch him as a bad guy.
Oh my.
At least Richard is still alive thankfully. |

I can say that Spike has, indeed, gotten a lot of practice.

Turns out... pretty hard.
I've gotta hand it to Spike. That eye-jewel thingy of his must be tremendously solid. It took a full-on golf swing from Richard just to crack it, and after all the shots he's taken since during this fight, he just keeps on going. |

And THIS, right here, is why we love Henson! While he may be a touch softhearted for the situation and the nasty foes he's up against, he doesn't need to be the perfect leader in order to be a hero. It takes practice and experience being a good leader, and with that self-sacrificing heart of his, he's got a great foundation to build from.
...if Spike doesn't do something about it first...
Dagnabbit, I have no fingernails LEFT, Aja! How much longer can you draw out this tension?! |

This is looking more and more dire for Henson. Where is Richard when you need him? Poor lads, chin up! You have to keep fighting, for the mean beetle...is rather mean indeed. Why can't that catty beetle just tie Henson up and capture him for the sake of the plot? Perhaps to take him to this unseen "master" that has been alluded to a few times? Why must he KILL the poor boy? He's already won, he's a sore winner.
But I can't help but agree about Henson showing the promise of being a great leader. It takes a real test of will and character to put up with this form of injury and possible death for the sake of others. I'm curious to see exactly how he will become, as this comic progresses.
Hopefully he doesn't pay too dearly for that willingness to protect others, at the expense of himself.
