Page 643 + Status Update

Page 643 is up! (The next 6 pages are up early for our Patrons, with Page 644 unlocked for free members!)

Those six early pages are also the last pages of this scene, so for Patrons the current flashback is now complete!

As you can see from the progress bar, we've been stalled at the current level of patronage for a long time now. It seems like every time a new Patron has joined, an old one has fallen on hard times and had to quit.

So we've been scrimping along, making barely enough to survive with maximum austerity.

Meanwhile, our basic living expenses haven't stalled at all. They've just kept soaring effortlessly skyward. 🙃 On top of everything else, the summer temperatures have tripled our power bill.

Like I've said before:
1. This is my only income.
2. I'm making pages as fast as I possibly can.
3. I literally cannot afford to pursue any other work.

It already takes 110% of my time and energy just to produce each month's pages.

(Fun Fact: With the power of Crippling Financial Anxiety™, everything takes longer than it should! Especially "creative" work! Ironically, I'd already be earning more if I could make pages faster. Quite a Catch-22, isn't it?)

So all I can do is ask for help.

On the bright side, we're nearly two-thirds of the way to our baseline funding goal ($1500/month, which would be enough to reliably cover our rent). It feels almost within reach. Just a couple dozen new Patrons could get us there!

All I want is enough to live safely, so that I can keep making this story in peace instead of in constant fear.

If even a single person would become a Patron at the lowest tier, that would at least bring us back up over the $1K mark. And that would sure give me some much-needed hope.
