It does happen rarely! But only if they're in extremely poor health during the time when they'd usually manifest their powers (and Wendel is doing just great right now).
As one patron pointed out, though, it's theoretically possible that Wendel was adopted, and his parents are raising a peasant kid by mistake.

Will Chuck show up in the present day? Was Chuck in the old comic?
May I point out that what the thieves find in Bob's house many, many pages ago makes me very worried for Evie.

I am so eager to see who this mysterious son of Henry is. Perhaps we should give him a tentative nickname. Perhaps something like, say, Henryson. Hmm, I wonder if that can be shortened in some way...
Aja, the way you weave in the dark undercurrents of this world without sacrificing the humor or lighthearted tone (and not making it the butt of the joke) is expertly done.
