Horoscope: Avoid going to GOG today, your wallet and your backlog of unplayed games will thank you for it.

I... I looked.
Why did I look?

Man, I've been ogling the new Spelunky for months, and now it's suddenly on sale. Shocked Super-tempted to make a GOG account just for that.

Have any of you guys played it yet?

I tried to warn you Aja. I tried to warn you all.
I'm pretty sure that we've lost Young to the Gog.

Haven't played any of the Spelunky games though. Heard they're fun though. Did you get it?

AUGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! The sun, it burns! It burns.. **scuttles back to dark corner.*

I actually have not played much of the Gog games I bought. I did just get a brand new 3D tv. Greatest buy ever. Of course it's gonna be a pretty penny buying my movies again in 3D. Glad I started to buy them recently with the ability to eventually get a 3D tv.

As for Spelunky. Never heard of it. Of course I've never really been a computer gamer. I've always been a console fan. There is just something I don't like about gaming with a keyboard and mouse. Yes, I know you can get a gamepad.

A 3D TV sounds pretty sweet!

I signed up at the last minute and got it. Shocked This counts as a recklessly bold feat in Aja terms. (Although I have to say, the sign-up and purchase process was as clean and simple as anything I've ever seen. GOG is so nice!)

I hope it works! I'll try installing it later as my reward for finishing the rest of my work for the month.

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend the original game. (It's free! And very charming... and unexpectedly addictive.)

One thing I love is the "damsel in distress" who randomly appears in the levels. She'll shout for help, then run around crying and tripping over things until you pick her up and bring her to the exit. That wouldn't be the greatest feature on its own, but the fun part is that you can unlock her as a playable character.

Then you can run around crying and raiding the caverns with a jet pack and a shotgun. Cheese!

Speaking of GoG, if you're into classic turn based strategy games with a fantasy flavor, they're giving away a limited number of keys for Age of Wonders today.

There's a counter about halfway down the front page that'll show you the number of licenses left.

Of course, that means navigating past a veritable minefield of deals and sales that will try to leech money out of you. Be careful...

I'd be surprised if they didn't have Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle up for sale eventually. It sounds like they got a lot of the old LucasArts catalog, but are spacing out releases so as to avoid melting their servers.

And yeah, it hits right in the nostalgia bits.

Woot! It's like a dream come true. It was just recently announced that Day of the tentacle is coming to the PS4. Swooon. Nudge Nudge

Has anyone seen the new trailer for the new Kings Quest game? Looks mighty spiffy, and will also come to the consoles. Which, I believe, will be a first for the series.

On top of the talk that the next Kingdoms Heart game could draw from Marvel and Star Wars as well, things are starting to look good for the next couple of years in gaming.

Looks like LucasArts games Wave 2 is up on GoG.com.
Includes X-wing Alliance, XvT, Sam and Max hit the road, Monkey Island and an array of others...

Of course, this is the week my home PC decides to die on me.
I mean, I kept if fed and watered, what more does it want?

Did you talk it on long walks outside, candlelight dinners, movies by the fire?

On a COG Note, I was excited to see they offer Theme Hospital for purchase. I loved that game. One of my favorite Simulation games, Right up there with Roller Coaster Tycoon, the original ones. The later ones lost the charm.
