December 11th Update!

Page 420 is up! (And if you like, you can join me on Patreon to see the next 2 pages right away!)

I've got the rest of this scene sketched, hurrah! Now it's time to embark on an epic inking/rendering marathon. :D

In other news, for anyone who might be missing the weekly recommendations: Long-time reader Brandon just sent me a link to the Devilman Crybaby OST. I've never seen the show, but that music is indeed awesome, so I had to share. Thanks, Brandon!

A Drop of Blood (PG-13 - Moderate Violence)

Goal: Steal artifact from temple. Step 1: Steal a jet to get there. Our heroine has some unusual abilities to help her out -- but so do her enemies. Action movie style, fast pacing and striking artwork make this an exciting read.

December 4th Update!

Page 419 is up! (And if you like, you can join me on Patreon to see the next 3 pages early!)

These news posts might be a little sparse for the rest of the month, because I'm working double-time to draw the last few pages of this scene. We're almost there, and I think it would be neat to have it all wrapped up by the end of the year. Wish me luck! ♥

This week, let me tell you about...

Rachel Aaron

In the spirit of the NaNoWriMo season, let's talk about writing!

Specifically, I'd like to share the blog of one of my favorite writers. Rachel creates delightfully fun stories, many of which (the epic fantasy Eli Monpress novels, the urban fantasy Heartstrikers series, the litRPG Forever Fantasy Online...) have kept me happily entertained through countless hours of comic drawing.

Even better, she takes the time to analyze the process of making fun stories, and has generously shared her insights and techniques with her readers.

Here are some of my favorite articles on writing strategy and process:

How I Went From Writing 2,000 Words a Day to 10,000 Words a Day

The Turtle Method for Faster, Better, More Fun Writing

How I Plot a Novel in 5 Steps

Editing for People Who Hate Editing

There's a ton of simple-yet-powerful advice packed into each of those. I still reread them every year or so, and I'm always glad when I do. They invariably remind me of something I could be doing to resolve a plot snag, organize my notes better, or just have more fun with the whole writing process. ♥

If you create stories in any medium, please do yourself the favor of exploring her blog!

(P.S. I took the Triangle of Writing Metrics from the 2K-to-10K post, and made a... slight modification for my own nerdy reference.)

Is there anything you'd like to recommend? Feel free to tell me about it on the forum!
